I was very fortunate to meet Makoto Sato in 2007 . In a concert produced by Julien Palomo and Marc Fevre at his salon near metro Charrone, L’Atélier Tampon . We became instant friends and Makoto asked me to play a concert

On this evening I noticed a certain warmth in the music. Temporarily the anger and frustration of Boston had lifted. I felt freer in Paris as an unknown.and I felt welcome in a new and beautiful place. Through the great kindness of Bertrand Renaudineau I was invited to play a salon concert at Gallix, his personal film studio which had a Bechstein Upright , the finest of Upright pianos.. Makoto introduced me to bassist Yoram Rosilio. Afterwards there were drinks, food and warm feelings.



The most spontaneous thing is IT. That’s a powerful force , “ energy music”. Ayler said,
“ play the whole scale in one sound fwwwiiip”
In the Lakota tradition the sacred is the mystery called Wakah Dakhu Wakah.. All you have to do is be there and the lesson comes on its own. That’s how we learn. The trio was my beginning .This was our first time playing together . We understood immediately. We knew the language. Dynamics is rhythm ; rhythm is form, joy, togetherness trance ,warm around the fire, an alliance of people,with a blues , stories we tell each other,our blues, We want more opportunity.. But we have to be real , accept it .. PLAY IT!
